MINI LECA PEBBLES

These mini pebbles are a ceramic, purely mineral substrate made out of expanded clay that has been heated to high temperatures inside of a rotary kiln. These pebbles are porous and provide homes for beneficial microbes as well as great aeration to the root zone, which can speed up plant growth.  Ideal for drip-feed, deep water culture, and flood and drain systems.  Also great for tropical houseplants and can be used as a mulch for indoor or outdoor plants.

APPLICATION  

• Soil Ingredient: Mix with the other components of a soilless media (coco coir, peat, compost, etc.) to improve its physical and chemical properties at a rate of 20% to 40% 

• Mulching: 5-10cm layer placed on top of the soil substrate prevents weed growth, reduces moisture loss due to evaporation

• Hydroponics: Can be used alone or in combination as the ideal inert substrate for hydroponic and aquaponic crops

• Drainage/Aeration:  Place a layer of the material 3-10cm thick, below the growing medium in a container
